A VERY STRANGE WEEK

On Sunday we had just a regular day.

The fall air was crisp; we wore jackets to play.

On Monday a pumpkin knocked at my door.

Strange—that had never happened before.

On Tuesday a small witch came to my room.

She flew in my window on her witch’s broom.

On Wednesday a black cat came looking for her.

It found her at last and started to purr.

On Thursday three little ghosts came to school.

They sat on my desk and they broke every rule.

On Friday a goblin made gurgling sounds.

It hid under my bed when mom made her rounds.

On Saturday it all became clear because

Halloween comes this time each year.
